#179 S14 LAN Discussion! in TF2 General Discussion

I feel like I'm the only person around here who watched LG vs Mixup at I46. When they played Gullywash it ended 1-0 mix because of how close the teams were in skill. With mix back into good form the skill levels are close again and even without QF we are going to be seeing close games again. Especially on Gullywash. I think that time needs to be given in order for teams to really get used to the QF and the conch before we decide to just ban them. I have faith that strategies will be developed to make the QF's mobility more powerful/desirable than using it on a heavy. Although I do think that they should take away it's invulnerability to knockback/airblast. I feel that you should be allowed to cap with it but not be able to cap and no one be able to do anything about you capping.

#103 ESEA-Invite: HRG vs. tri Hards in Events
renxzenJelloTymeThey need the chemistry of a roster with multiple season under their belt.
How come that didn't work out for vector then?

That isn't really a fair comparison. Although go back and look at their roster history. They didn't stick with the same 6 both seasons. And no offense to vector they are all better than myself but they were never really on the same level as the rest of invite. They were moved up from IM prematurely.

#102 ESEA-Invite: HRG vs. tri Hards in Events
-sqJelloTymeI don't understand why everyone is getting worked up over this. How do you expect any newly formed team to dethrone last seasons champions when they had no roster changes. If that's how competition worked it wouldn't make sense. If the current mixup and tri hards stay together for next season and their teamwork improve then they can contest HRG. But if everyone just splits up and try to make super teams to take HRG down it won't work. They need the chemistry of a roster with multiple season under their belt.
Well, HRG kinda did that last season, although mixup did switch the roster a bit.

Mixup changed 2 players HRG changed 3. Pretty close. It just so happened that HRG had the better chemistry/more practice time and less roster issues. Mixup did swap people to different classes quite a bit. They started the season with TLR demo and Plat as pocket.

#19 tftv casters in TF2 General Discussion

I agree with Ruwin. Look at the 4th round for example. The casters were super hopeful/hyped at a trihard come back and started talking about them the same as they had been talking about HRG the first 3 rounds where they rolled each round. When a round goes that quick what is there really to say besides so and so just killed so and so and won the round.
