i know this "drama" has kinda died down and i might get hard -fragged for saying this but fuck it.
fuck you to the people who go after ire constantly just for wanting to actually run this site properly and improve the scene. u may think this game/site is just a wasteland beyond saving but stop flaming ire for trying to help. i see this all the time and it really gets on my nerves, its obvious some of u dont know the strain on ur mental health volunteering for comp tf2 can have (u might just say "just dont do it then its not worth it", and like, yeah, but u could also just not be a dick to volunteers?).
im commenting more generally, not just on this specific incident. i think its fine to hold the opinion that nuking b4nny clips to avoid copyright strikes is an unnecessary precaution, but fuck off calling ire a stuck up control-freak.
ire works so hard for this scene and actually tries to cooperate with rgl/b4nny even though they've never made it easy for tftv people and tend to give u shit in return because he cares about whats best for the scene. baffles me that so much of this forum seems to see him as some control-freak. he deserves better.
sorry for rant, this just really bothers me given that its far from an isolated incident (and not just to ire either)
tl;dr: if u wanna be critical, do it like Aubriac (respectfully), not like Reero.
since u said there was a gap of a month, are you sure it wasnt something totally different that caused your account to get compromised?
serious question to any techies how the fuck does someone get into ur account despite 2FA, just from u going to a website? thats like scary af. i get "dont click sketchy links" but this is hella spooky.
oh thats p cool, empire replied to the BTS tf2 (lol) announcement post so that makes sense
why does he sound so mad it sounds like he hates everyone watching
csgo isnt only a tier 1 esport because Astralis lost their top spot (obviously it was a tier 1 esport before then anyway), Astralis lost their top spot because csgo is a tier 1 esport. if tf2 was a tier 1 esport with a ton of full time professionals trying hard to win and having the resources to do it, then froyotech would not be as dominant. i dont see how dethroning froyo is the path to making tf2 a tier 1 esport though, the stagnation exists because tf2 is not a tier 1 esport, rather than the stagnation being the reason tf2 is not a tier 1 esport.
like maybe the stagnation has a negative effect on the scene since it makes the competition less interesting to watch but my point still stands, its not the reason the game isnt tier 1.
(not saying froyo wouldnt be top-tier if tf2 was a tier 1 esport, just that this level of dominance probably wouldnt be possible if the game was csgo-size)
edit: this is responding to the point quoted in #26, didnt wanna quote it here since it'd make my post really long
pretty sure thats just part of the game
i like watching cups but i dont think i'd like playing them. just seems tedious and i wouldnt like the routine required (although i played at lan but thats different ya know? vibes and that). dont have an issue with them happening obviously but just throwing it out there that there are people with an opposite opinion to coyo (as in i dont prefer them to seasonal league play and dont want them replacing it).

lootcheating, exploiting, ddossing and match fixing should be the only banable offenses
tf2 literally has a built in default-on chat censor
dont think its unreasonable to be harsh on harassment my guy. it should be rgl's job to moderate their community.
(to clarify, i am referring to this comment specifically. i dont think people should be punished for the actions of someone else just because they are the scrim organiser, like i said in my earlier post)
if a banned player continues being a moron after the ban, extend their ban. dont punish other people because they organised a scrim or single mix (pugscrim) that includes that player. pretty simple.
if the player doesnt care about being banned forever and people dont like scrimming them, then it should be down to the players to blacklist those teams from their scrims.
