http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost-faq/LightBoost does increase input lag by half a frame.
Since input lag for top edge of screen can vary from bottom edge, and strobe backlights give interesting behaviors — For the average ASUS/BENQ 120Hz LightBoost screen, non-LightBoost TOP/CENTER/BOTTOM is 3ms/7ms/11ms while LightBoost TOP/CENTER/BOTTOM is 11ms/11ms/11ms. This averages out to half a frame added input lag (3ms -> 7ms) with LightBoost.

it's literally in the thread

not sure what the typical 'human brain refresh rate' is supposed to be. now testing it ya i can see a very insignificant input lag, but also pretty awful blur whenever i decide to flick/rj.

but whatever go back to your fast-paced sticky trap placement if that's really what is superior for you

hoolitypical dumb hellbent noob

144 hertz is better than 120 hertz lightboosted
the amount of input lag present when lightboosted is unacceptable and the smoothness of 144 hertz is far more beneficial than how clear individual 120 hz frames are
i'd still get the monitor, best monitor on the market and 144 hertz is great

edit: try both and see for yourself

I've obviously tried both and like the lightboost more. Apart from me doing quite a lot of jumping, I also flick aim quite a bit so having heavily reduced motion blur is worth the 7ms or so input lag that I can't even notice.

It makes sense to me that scout mains, and demos that stare at the same sticky trap for 12 minutes while their team disintegrates around them would enjoy 144hz more as they are not flicking nearly as much, but then again why argue with the king of useless information.

Try both and pick what feels best instead of theorizing how a loss of 1/40th of the normal human reaction time will effect your gaming experience.
