Apparently I was on direct x 90 so I had to make sure it stayed on 81 with mat_dxlevel 81 in my autoexec. That fixed the fog for me.

TF2 uses much more than just 1 core. All 4 of my cores are fully loaded. Learn how to overclock your CPU. Other than that you're mostly out of luck.

It worked for me but it's barely noticeable. I dunno why back in Bad Company 2 the effect was REALLY noticeable. I could hear where my friends were on the other team.

I turned on mat_filtertextures and I think that fixed it cause I didn't notice the smoke last time I played. Doesn't make any sense really.
