#20 Is this good for TF2? in Hardware
Karmarsiherofor the love of god get a SSD.Is that a major difference between a SSD and an HDD?

I bought an ssd for my desktop and it's honestly nothing to be excited about really, but it's probably plenty more beneficial for a laptop that has a slower laptop hard drive. If you can afford to get at least a small one then it won't hurt to put it on.

#14 Rocket Jump Help in Q/A Help
zigzterkirbyPractice jumps on ESEA maps that you know you'll use often. Maybe practice the jumps that you won't do all that often but might find yourself doing eventually. Example: jumping from badlands lower lobby door on gray bridge to wall jumping off of the right wall into choke (bomb scenario).This.

If you only practice jumping on jump maps and never on actual maps, you'll most likely be subpar at jumping in-game. You need a healthy mix of the two.

This. Being incredible on jump maps won't get you much until you have sound game sense and map knowledge. Focus more on using map terrain and features to your benefit when you want to get from point A to B.

#2 Mumble Overlay in TF2 General Discussion

The mumble overlay has been fully working since they implemented a few improvements a while ago. Make sure there are no other overlays conflicting with mumble.

#59 Improving #tf2mix in TF2 General Discussion

You guys keep posting logs from TF2mix like it means something. It's TF2mix for christ's sake. 70% of the guys in TF2mix are new and are barely low open. All you're doing by off classing is ruining a pug where people could actually learn a thing or 2 from a normal 6s setting. If you could, you guys would probably post yourself getting like 30 spy kills or something as if that's a good thing.

#6 connecting second monitor to computer in Hardware
PorkChopyou wont get video from connecting a 2nd monitor to your motherboard.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=vga%20to%20dvi&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20

there is a list of vga to dvi connectors.

If you have the drivers installed for both your onboard graphics and the dedicated GPU then you CAN run 2 different monitors for each GPU. You'll just run into less problems if you run both monitors on a single card.

#8 new nvidia card, tf2 fucking up in Hardware

If you're using one of the newer releases of nvidia drivers, I've had graphic issues in TF2 with them. I wouldn't recommend them, but I'm on a Fermi GPU (400 series). I'm on 301.42 if you want to give it a try. Follow the below guide to install any drivers from here on out.

#3 fps capping? in TF2 General Discussion

it's for keeping framerate consistent. If you benchmark your PC with fraps or etc,you can figure out what average/minimum framerate you get during typical conditions and then cap your framerate to around that value. That way your frame rate doesn't fluctuate which may/may not throw off your game.

Toonithe guy with a really loud keyboard who uses voice detection in mumble so you can hear every single keypress he makes

The guy with a really loud keyboard who uses push-to-talk and you still can't hear him over that obnoxious clacking.

#10 $129 240hz TV in Hardware

It's good if you're getting it for your PS3 or just as a TV (maybe there are better options). Don't buy it for TF2.

#22 Will a Mouse Make Me Good in Hardware

The situation is the same as any hardware deficit that produces poor FPS. You can try to work around it but solving the problem eliminates the tedious task in the first place.

mariohighly recommend CPU: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6394302&CatId=4919

What is this 2005? Never buy old hardware. You're just gonna end of regretting it. There's almost always newer equivalents that are better for the same price.

#7 How long does amazon.com take to ship to canada,AB in Off Topic

Once you get the UPS tracking number (if it's UPS) the estimated date is dead on 99% of the time. I got a package early once a very long time ago though.
