My name is DraGuLa and I am the owner of the S4L, Souldier's 4 Life TF2 community. We have been around for 4 to 5 months now and over the last month or so have really got our name out there. We are forming a 6's team and needing some experienced members to join us.

Q: What kind of players are we looking for?
A: We need dedicated players with SOME experience in 6v6 competitions. Not looking for invite players obviously, just people that know what they are doing and can help us get this built up.

Q: Do you have a website/Server?
A: You can check out our site at www.s4lservers.com We currently have 2 TF2 servers and one server that is our highlander/6's server when we need it. It is configured with UGC configs and ready to go at moments notice.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: Go to our forums at www.s4lservers.com/mybb and locate the 6's competition team thread.

The few we have so far do not have a whole lot of experience with this but are some pretty good TF2 players. We are just ready for the next step and are excited about arranging this. If you think you could help our team and are able to make scrimms and matches, please register in our forums.

We have a very laid back community and some very interesting characters that play in our servers. I installed 12.10 2 times today and kept failing trying to get off the open source amd drivers. I tried downloading from the software center on ubuntu, it installed and upon restart I would get to a command prompt screen to login in and it said KGB:disabled or something. Couldnt get back to the desktop to save my life. Installed 12.04 and same issues. I had many many issues because I have a Raid 0 array and crossfire 7950's. I managed to install steam, download TF2 and when I clicked on TF2 to start up, I got an error (cant remember exactly) well TF2 didnt appear to load but I got the Tuxx so I logged in my wife's account and she got it as well, despite not even seeing the first TF2 loading screen. Uninstalled 12.04 for now and back on Windows. Maybe try to dual boot again real soon before promotion is over.

p.s. Fingers crossed the penguin is worth at least what a Bill's hat is....

Technoblade, look man I really apologize for the way things turned out. I do wish I could have planned this better from the start. I jsut got home from work and the idea hit me so I posted on our website (limited traffic obviously) and I posted it here as I am not a part of any other TF2 forums. Anyways, we had a great time and I would like to have you in there sometime, I'll be sure to give ample timing next time around!

I totally understand what you mean. Listen, we had a contest going on that got scrapped cause it fell through and didnt work out so well. So this one was LAST minute. No one knew of it until about 2 hours prior or so. I am kinda spontaneous sometimes I know but we host Friday Night Fights every Fri night at 7 pm EST. I just added a little twist this Friday. I apologize about the time frame not being adequate as I would of loved more people involved. I had to set some kind of rules hence the 5 hour play time thing because we have many members that dedicate a lot of their time to us and it would not be right to just allow someone to enter the game just looking to win an Unusual Hat and never see them again. Make sense?

Ok buddy. Believe as you wish. We are a very small TF2 community and I have met some really awesome people from this site. It was last minute yes I do agree but it has been posted on our website for the last few hours. I was attacked for trying to be a nice guy and give back to the community. Everything is out of my pocket, im the one that puts a ton of hours into this to make it the best I can. I post here because I respect you guys' gameplay and maybe thought some would be interested in some of the things we do in our server. That is not a crime. Sure why wouldnt I want to promote our server a little bit? We are all about building and learning. For some reason I get attacked on here more times than not. Sorry you were not eligible to enlist in the tournament but that does not mean others were not. Stop being selfish and at least recognize someone trying to do some good for TF2.

edit: There will be MANY more giveaways coming soon and we will also have a centralized server (Chicago) really soon as well. No need to get so frustrated over it

There is quite a few people on this website that were eligible for the prize and they did compete because of this thread and for your information, the winner was a NON ADMIN. The winner was a guy named Taco and he has been on our server for about 7 hours total. I traded the hat to him on the spot. This thread was mainly for those on this site that have been to our server before so I do not understand all of the rudeness. I did not make a God damn penny off of this and jsut gave away a very expensive hat. Why can't people just be nicer?

Ive posted on this site quite a few times and this competition was for the ones that have actually given us a shot and played in the server.

Ok our first contest was canceled due to not as much participation as expected. So tonight at 7pm Eastern Time (half hour from now) we are hosting Friday Night Fights like we do every Friday night but this time there is a twist! The winner will aquire my Level 100 Unusual Capo's Capper with Sunbeam effects! hey Geknair! You guys are too kind. We have our rough edges but are slowly working out the kinks. It is not an overnight process that is for sure but I love the challenge! We had a great time in the Heavy Boxing tonight ended up giving out 16 scrap metal to the winners. Not anything huge but fun for sure. StacMar my wife actually won the 2nd tournament and made me proud.

The server has resumed normal game play now and is on cp_well if anyone is interested.
edit: I built another computer 2 days ago (Trinity 5800k apu with 2133mhz ram 16GB) and that is now my dedicated server for the time being. Only thing installed onto it is srcds and Windows 7 ultimate. We will have a ded. server in chicago somewhere after the holidays.
