I think YesIDid is actually forwarding a critique of the modern gold player who percieves his/herself as more than that. He imitates this "persona" in order to, simultaneously, offer a perspective we have yet to grasp. YesIDid's thesis is that of a subversive critical interpretation of the "almost plat" player. It is indicative of a "generation lost," if you will. Quite profound.
