It looks about 9 hours ago he updated the main menu/loading screen backgrounds. You could try using the HUD without them. materials/vgui/replay/thumbnails/ background_upward_widescreen.vtf(.vmt) are the ones that load when the game launches.

Thats why the post says 'was' not 'is'. June was saying the shields aren't that useful anymore, but before they were too strong. I also agree, the targe really doesn't feel worth it anymore especially with afterburn immunity gone.

I think the shields should get a bonus to self propulsion from explosions. So you could pipe jump farther with them, giving them some increased mobility.

- explosive damage received increased by 10%

+50 hp gained on successful hit
+5% ubercharge gain on successful hit
- Miss: hit yourself idiot. Applies bleed

Darwins Danger Shield
- Danger!!! Bleed at 25 Hp or lower
+ 15% move speed increase when bleeding

make sure you're getting the same FPS in mge as you do in regular games.

I'm just curious as I know its getting closer to release, but do you have a set of rules in place for players on the site? Also how will these rules be enforced? Will people be free to spam chat or play troll classes in game, or is there an action plan to mitigate these things? Do you embrace the "it's just a lobby" mentality or do you want this to be more serious?

If its for fps reasons you would likely only get at best 1 fps gain from it.

I'd say your best bet though, comanglia config + dx8 + nohats + lower resolution + surface impacts mod. That will likely give you the most stable and smooth framerate.

If you want to play in DX9 flames -default trick might be worth looking into, unless you have a beast GPU this will likely make things worse.
