edit... After doing some reading and seeing his past criminal record, he would have never been approved for a license to carry a concealed weapon.

I did not blame the victim at all, I just asked a question as to why he or anyone would have a physical altercation with police if he knew he was carrying a concealed weapon. I think it had to do with his criminal past. They were going to find the gun and send him back to jail because of it so he fought the cops and it ended badly.
did you watch the video? he was tackled to the ground by police and his arms were restrained, there's no way he was able to grab his gun and start shooting.
