It's almost August, and playoff hype is in the air! Unfortunately only 1 cast this week, and it was pretty much a meme game, but I'm very excited to see how playoffs will unfold this season.

Razes Empty Wallet vs Bearly Alive
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VHleypvOPQ

I really wanted to do more than just one cast this week, but literally minutes before I was about to start a second cast, I learned that my grandma had passed away. It did not come as a surprise, and I had time to say goodbye so it's not too sad, but I was still worried that it might effect the quality of the cast, and I chose to just leave it at one game this week.

Also on a lighter note, I got some awesome new channel art done by my friend Tangelos. I don't care too much about how my youtube channel looks, which is why I kept the old and terrible art up for so long, but it's nice to finally have something that wasn't done in MS Paint.

RazeGo with 12? The 8 specified NA groups, then four groups for Canada, separated by time zone(throw the furthest east provinces in with East/Montreal) Would that be feasible?

You still have the problem of hardly any people in Canada being so separated. Doing by timezones isn't a good idea because 1. there's 6 time zones in Canada, and 2. You still have a ridiculously small pool of players for the team. Just look at the player map, Manitoba (which is practically alone in it's time zone) has 2 players on it. Now every player in the community isn't on that map, but you'll never find 6 skilled players who have the time and interest to compete in a tournament with strangers if you're only picking form Manitoba.

The most you can split Canada up in one of these would be East and West, but if you're only having 8 American teams you should probably just keep Canada whole.

SnivyMaybe when Faceit launches we can organize an NA regions cup on it

Also something I made; going by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis regions and national regions of Canada, the NA regions would be:

New England
Mideast
Great Lakes
Plains
Southeast
Southwest
Rocky Mountain
Far West
British Columbia
Alberta
Saskatchewan
Manitoba
Ontario
Quebec
New Brunswick
Prince Edward Island
Nova Scotia
New Foundland and Labrador
Northwest Territories
Nunavut
What do you guys think about an NA region cup?

I like the ideas but these groupings are really bad.

You've split up US into 8 areas and Canada into 12 (And it should be 13 because you forgot Yukon) Yet the US has almost 9x more people than Canada does :/ Also Nunavut has like, 1/9th the population of Iceland. I would be impressed if you could find even one person from there that has played the game, let alone 6 competitive players.

I think at most you could split Canada into East and West, but if you're sticking with only 8 groupings from the states, you should probably just keep Canada intact.

Getting pretty close to that playoff hype!

Sunshine week was a really good one for me. I honestly have been really stressed the past couple weeks and I think it hurt the casts, but I think I've identified the problem, and the first cast I did this week is one of my favorites despite the not so close scoreline.

Also thanks for the support over on the other thread. It makes me happy to know people are enjoying the casts :)

#21 How To Watch Competitive TF2: A WIP in Videos

I really love this concept, and I'm glad this is being made.

First suggestion would be to maybe cut out some of the unimportant bits. Flashing for example is a kinda difficult concept to understand, and it's not super important for watching TF2.

I would also suggest just mentioning something about other competitive gamemodes (Highlander, Arena Respawn) and other game types (koth) just so people don't get confused. I don't think you should go in depth about them, but just stating that they exist could stop some confusion when someone goes from this video directly to a highlander or koth match.

#6 getting placed in another region in mm in TF2 General Discussion

I was once in a 6 stack with all NA players, got matched up against 6 Asia players, and got put into a Stockholm server... There should be an option to say something like "only put me in Washington, Virginia, or LA servers" or something like that.

I don't really like casting on viaduct, but I still managed to fit in 2 games this week

Bote 6v6 vs Milters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXzuHFV1psU

6bb vs Gardening Club
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdKa2xsu648

Bote vs Milters was a really great game that could have gone either way. 6bb vs gardening club was... a little less serious, but I figured as long as I had one close game to put up this week I could justify putting up a match that was 5v6 and saw an almost full time spy...

I only got to cast one match last week thanks to exams, but now school is over and I'm looking to do 2-3 a week from now on.

Flight of the Vegetables vs Danada Cry

A really close game that was extremely fun to watch. Glad that the week I only casted one match I got a good one!

I managed to do two more shoutcasts this week after failing to upload anything last week.

Gregs vs Danada Cry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPDE1PBxATM

Slightly Nervous Doggos vs Gardening Club
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LnEPtp1PCQ

The first match was very close despite lots of server issues, and while the second one was a bit of a roll, I still thought the cast was alright.

#12 how's exams going for you? in Off Topic

Canadian and exams started today (none of mine until next week tho) I get a choice to exempt one exam because of a program at our school, and I'm debating between Social and Chem.

I've been shoutcasting ESEA open games and could use a youtube profile picture that doesn't look terrible.

It doesn't have to be anything like the current one, just anything nice looking you can come up with
