#91 baud banned again.. in TF2 General Discussion
SpaceCadetSo because you cheated at a different game it makes everything ok? Sorry I don't buy that weak ass defense.

As I said in my post, you are the type of player who was 100% confirmed to have installed a cheat on your computer. It wasn't installed by accident or by an act of god. I don't know much about Baud's first ban for cheating but if it was 100% confirmed then I blame the admins for allowing him back into the league to possibly cheat again this time.

Once again, you can't blame the players for cheating because there will ALWAYS be individuals looking for an unfair edge. You have to blame the league admins for not issuing the proper punishment and set an example for future people intending to cheat in league play.

can't blame the player for cheating?
lol

cheating in games (especially at high level) is probably the worst thing.
so fuck cheaters. kick'em out, don't let them come back.
i agree with you when you say that admins should issue "proper punishment", but i think we should definitely blame players for cheating.
being a (AC) admin isn't the easiest of positions to be in and i am definitely less harsh when i judge admins, as opposed to judging cheaters.
don't get me wrong though, because i do realise that it's much up to AC staff to keep leagues clean and fun for (legit) players.. but fuck cheaters

#3 scout/tf2 console cmds in TF2 General Discussion

kind of an unspecific question..
but my guess is that you want to get a fps config.
most fps configs already have net settings included.
this is one, for example.

#76 baud banned again.. in TF2 General Discussion
insomOkay........but I cheated in an entirely different game and got VAC'd, also if he does as well on LAN without cheating, that's as good of an argument as it gets. Why shouldn't players get a second chance especially if these admins aren't even showing the evidence.

this was his second chance

#4 stable nvidia drivers? in Hardware

probably 344.11,
but i have no experience with your card myself.
i'd try a more specialised site like overclock or tomshardware.

you could also try out the newest beta (347.09).
i've read good things about it, despite it being beta.

be sure to perform a clean install! :)

Vortexyou can't press m1 and m2 at the same time

#5 G400s Default dpi in Hardware

only 800 and 3600 are native for G400, and only 800 and 4000 are native for G400S. the other two steps on both mice are interpolated.

default for both is indeed 800 @1000hz, like shaft mentioned.

personally i'd just uninstall the software. the G400S doesn't need any drivers or software other than whatever's already on windows itself.

#2 What's a good way to calculate mouse dpi? in Hardware

quoting someone from overclock.net:

It'll vary depending on the mouse surface you're using and the thickness of the mouse skates. I also discovered that the dpi can change when dust accumulates on the lens of the sensor.

as far as i know, you can't really calculate it.
there are only estimates.

quoting someone from overclock.net:

My EC1 eVo CL has real dpi steps of 445, 1100 and 2215

i assume that the EC1 and EC2 are exactly the same in this regard (lod).

#4 new PC? in Hardware

i would follow kenneth's advice to start.
check temperatures and check task manager (or whatever else) to check how much cpu is used when idle. also check stuff like services running, and just try to get rid of as much as you can.
modern PCs can take a good beating, but if things stack up...

and, i'm not familiar with your motherboard but, it's always worth it to look into everything that you can change in your BIOS. not just overclock-related settings.

a fresh start (disk wipe + installing windows) can also accomplish alot!
i would save the option to buy new stuff for last.

#6 headset or headphones in Hardware

i'm with Rick on this.

adding to that: a pair of headphones + a microphone will (typically) end up being of higher quality. i know that plenty of headsets are fine, but (typically) you will be paying for the comfort, and not for quality.

he's definitely right about surround sound from headphones as well..
at most, use software to simulate surround sound for headphones.
nasty gimmickses

#16 Enlighten me on which mouse I should get in Hardware

i still recommend logitech G400 or zowie FK1 or zowie FK2, depending on your grip style and stuff.

if you're interested in the ninox aurora, wait a few more days/weeks.
reviews have started coming out.
and i'd just wait for a few more reviews, from people who've used the mouse for at least a few days.
