#123 To all MGE lords in TF2 General Discussion

This is pretty much what I'd expect with a thread titled "to all mge lords".

Also, if you're playing rocket-only ammomod for any reason other than fun, you have the wrong priorities in life. I did it for like a year, but only because I enjoy it more, not because I have any illusions about it being better, or more honorable, or dumb shit like that.

#15 Help me stay awake please in Off Topic

If world politics keeps going on the course it has been, we're heading straight for a third world war.

That shit keeps me up at night.

#62 Fortnite in Other Games

Can't wait for like 5 years from now when we realize the battle royale trend is dumb the same way we realized the MOBA trend was dumb and the MMO trend was dumb. Good on them for having successful marketing, but I just don't understand the appeal of the game type. PUBG is bad, PUBG + Lincoln Logs isn't much of an improvement.

Of course, there are also the people trying to turn both PUBG and Fortnite into esports, since that's a marketable thing to do right now. I suppose if there can be pro Clash Royale players, then fuck it, anything goes.

#2 Random mouse input lag in Q/A Help

I've been having similar issues where sometimes my rockets won't fire, or they'll come out when I'm already swinging my mouse back during a jump, I had thought it was just my mouse getting old, but I've heard of other people having this problem recently as well.

Gareth_GC and Paradox were both absurdly good snipers back when I cared about who was good at sniper

He's cool

Even if he's not hot, he'll always be a really happy man in our hearts.

edit: Fireman Sam was objectively a superior show, though

#20 My dm is literally deteriorating in Q/A Help
perfectionhow i got out of my slump is stick to a sensitivity, stop playing mge, worked on my gamesense, and my aim came back to me after a month of slumping.

You also installed an aimbot, can't forget that crucial step.

Pyyyour was the best for a while, he was certainly a central part of some of the most dominant teams.

#20 post your current tf2 setup in Customization

crosshair/hud

scoreboard

I based the hud around m0rehud ages ago, but I've changed it a lot since then.

As for the graphics config, I run -autoconfig, then -dxlevel 81, then I have a trimmed down version of the old Chris's maxframes cfg that just changes the settings that I've found to be impactful on my fps.

Fun fact, my lerp shows up as 10ms on most servers, instead of the theoretical minimum of 15.2ms. It still ends up being 15.2 in reality, but still.

Slumps happen, and honestly grinding through them is a good way to go. It could be an actual slump, in that you're literally missing more, or it could be a perceptual slump, where you're just becoming more aware of the shots you're missing while actually hitting as many or more than you used to. A perceptual slump is part of the model of skill progression where your skills increase and then hit a plateau. As you gain unconscious competence, your awareness shifts towards the things your competence doesn't cover. Since you're becoming more aware of the shots you're not hitting, it gives you an opportunity to work on them and hit that next skill climb.

tl;dr you're probably just getting better

Finally tf2 has it's own #MeToo.

I was suspicious that he was up to no good when he added me several years after the last time I had seen him in game and asked if I was trans.

#7 Mumbles in TF2 General Discussion

you can literally go to the server browser in mumble and just take over some random empty mumble, tons of the ones on there are ones that people got for free with servers, or for some other reason have been kept up but aren't used.

I don't think I've ever had to pay for a mumble server in my life.

#23 Choose one and tell us why? in Off Topic

It would take you over 13 years to spend the 5 billion, if you somehow managed to spend literally 1 million dollars every day, and if you had no income from investments.

You could live better than most people in the world do off of the interest you'd get keeping 5 million dollars in the bank.

5 billion is the best choice by a colossal margin.
