#1 Moscow LAN 2019 in LAN Discussion

https://i.imgur.com/t46LMvp.png

August 10th-11th
Moscow, Winstrike Arena
Prizepool: TBA

Moscow LAN is an annual Team Fortress 2 tournament taking place in Moscow (obviously).

Summer 2018 LAN took place in Cyberspace Riviera with more than 60 participants coming in to claim the title and fight for the sweet money and the glory. We had in-game medals too!

People tend to learn by their mistakes. We had both positive and negative feedback regarding the event and took our time to plan as much as we can in advance. We're expanding out production and tournament quality, speaking and working with talented community enthusiasts.

Rules:

Show Content

TLDR:

  • 123 EUR team fee
  • Free rentals
  • 6v6, mostly ETF2L rules

The last day will be covered on KritzKast.

They banned me without a warning for playing harmonica in mumbe (that was in pregame and everyone seemed to enjoy it!)

#1 Moscow LAN 2019 democall in Videos

Good news everyone! We're coming back this summer.
Dates are TBA, this time the event will be way more foreigner-friendly (and hopefully not too close to iseries).

But that's out of this thread's topic.
We're looking into producing one or more frag movies that will be presented live on the LAN arena. We have production guys and everything.
If you have a desire to appear on a big screen in front of bunch of TF2 nerds, submit your demos following this format:

1. Name
2. Region
3. Div and team (league links do work as well, but bear in mind we'll use your current or latest active team in this case)
4. Link to a demo (something not instantly expiring, google drive or mega is a great way to go)
5. Demo ticks and an explaination of what happened
6. Optional but hightly recommended: a video sample of your sick moment. Any quality/config/resolution works as long as it is visible.

Shoot us an email with your frags : demos@moscow.tf

Thanks and hopefully cu@

  • Fixed Demoman callouts being broken in callouts addon.
  • Updated nohats mod to the latest Scream Fortress X version (thank you Jeebs for your hard work).
  • Small visual adjustments.

#2 logitech G900/G403/G305 wireless mouse jitter in Q/A Help

Plug a mouse dongle into the mouse cable (can't speak for other mice, but g403 has an adapter for this) and put it on your table/next to the mouse and see if the problem still occurs.
Did you try to disable your Wi-Fi? Logitech is using a proprietary radio protocol instead of Bluetooth and it may hit your wi-fi channels. You can try to disable it first and see if it helps. If it does, try picking other channels in your router settings.

#2 NVIDIA LOD TWEAK NEED HELP PLS pls in Customization

apparently you are missing settings file that has a LOD option

here are my files from the working instance of nvidia inspector (1.9.7.3)
custom settings file
pre-configured profile for TF2 that has lowest possible LOD (import with the green arrow button)

drop both in your inspector folder, open profile settings and import the profile, should be good

#3 toth item donations in TF2 General Discussion

Not all the items can be easily converted to cash. Even with the extended amount of types of items that can be donated this year, it's still hard to resell and convert to cash cheap items, because it's not worth the effort, fees and a backpack space in long term perspective.

Even when converting unusuals there is a risk of item not being covnerted into a currency over a very long period of time because of market instability. In fact, most of TF2 items are pixels that are not worh anything as long as there are no people willing to instantly or automatically trade them for currency at a stable rate. Currency is always backed up by real world money because it's constantly traded at a (somehow) constant rate.

So yea, basically, if 1000 people donate 3 vintage weapons each that would be 3000 inventory slots taken. It takes 27 backpack expanders (27$) to store 60$, plus the efforts and bot hosting and computing time (and an actual time) to sell those 60$ for around 51$ (maybe less? idk what the prices are) of real world money that can be donated.
On the other hand those 3000 slots could be used to store keys or other valuable items that are easy to sell and donate almost instantly.

#24 Moscow LAN in LAN Discussion

Assuming the base prizepool of the LAN will be (possibly) the same as the previous one (800$ with 9 participants), please vote
Edit: participation fee was around 25$ per team for this year. can be the same or extended if favor or prize pool as well
