While pitting last season’s finalists Ascent.EU against recently promoted War & Sons might seem like a one-sided affair, things might not be as simple as they appear. Ascent.EU has had some massive roster overhaul, and despite being promoted from D1, War & Sons also have a large sum of experience on their own.
With Ascent.EU losing half of their roster, this first week could prove to be tough for amppis and his ammomod addicts. While the quality of the replacements is not questioned, team synergy takes a while to build and they could get caught out, especially on Granary, a map often seen in upsets. This match also marks Zebbosai’s return in TF2, and it remains to behold if he retained his previous level.
On the other side, stefaaan and WARHURYEAH will be leading a new batch of rookies to Premiership. Voxtec and ever_x will be doing their prem debut tonight, and we’ll see if they can immediately step up or if they need some time to adapt. The not-so Germans have performed well during the playoffs in D1 last season, and although they also changed some of their players, will look forward towards catching their opponents offguard.
