i agree better programs for the insane would be good too. but those are often caught after the fact. gun laws are supposed to make it so no one dies in the first place, or at least makes it harder to kill people, thus avoiding the pitfalls of "better late than never" of mental health issues

The issue isn't "better programs" it's the fact that people break. You can be completely rational, have something fucked up happen, then shoot up a school. It's semi-predictable, but that'd require some Orwellian dystopia shit.

I don't think that people "just break" all that often...it's generally the result of an accumulation of life experiences that haven't been dealt with properly, e.g. being abused as a child, bullied in school, etc. I really think the best way to help people like that is to increase the quality, availability, and awareness of mental health services, and create a culture where it's not stigmatized as weak/abnormal/etc to get help for mental/emotional issues. If people thought of seeing a therapist/psychiatrist for a mental health issue as something as normal as seeing a doctor for a physical health issue, I think a lot of people would be much better off and things like this would happen less frequently.

You cannot make mustard gas from bleach in any way at all. Mustard gas is a thioether with chlorinated alkyl chains. Bleach is a solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite.

also adding pennies (copper) to bleach wont even do anything except oxidize the surface of the copper.

the argument about people making their own guns is specious there are plenty of countries where gun control exists and guns are not readily available and people don't magically find ways to shoot each other and homicide rates are generally much lower

if u want to be a 2nd amendment faggot the argument you should focus on is that guns already exist in huge surplus within the usa and logistically there's no effective way to simply get rid of them, gun control might have been an option before your country decided to found itself on a culture of violence explicitly written into the constitution but its a bit late for that now
