Add a "New to comp?" thing next to tftv banner

Sounds simple enough to implement. Basically just add a "New to comp tf2? Click this!" thing to link to an article or something (dunno if there already is one, somebody could work on one [I could maybe contribute maybe if there isn't]) that gives a pretty fast introduction to Highlander and 6s, with links to newbie mixes, UGC, and all that jazz.

Like, you'd put it next to the tf.tv banner and make it pretty obvious what it is, and once you sign up on the site you'd have the option of removing it from the banner or something. I think that this'd be a pretty good way to get people who are visiting for the first time into comp stuff that are scared of what to do. Encourage LFT posts or whatever, guide people and whatnot. That way, tf.tv can seem, like, less daunting of a place for completely new people, considering there are bunches of people plugging stuff around already.

Sorry if somebody else already came up with this idea.

On that note, maybe enigma could make a separate sidebox for LFT posts? I think that would be pretty cool.

I agree with this, when I was told "Go to teamfortress.tv to get into competitive" I came here and had no idea what to do so I just gave up, in the end I actually got into it through a mix group.

Sorry, yeah, this has already been suggested and is the reason why I'm involved with teamfortress.tv in the first place.

Writing a guide is pretty extensive work, and I'm going through drafting mode at the moment; that's actually what that Guide button at the top is supposed to exactly do (except it doesn't do anything at the moment).

I'm hurrying through the guide ASAP. :)

I think it would be better if when you've made it you should change the name to "New to Competitive" and make it easier to see, At the moment the guide button is pretty inconspicuous and not what you first look at when you enter the site. Is there anywhere else you could put it or change colours ect. to make it what your eyes look at it first. The people already here know where things are so this could take priority in where it's placed.

Absolutely, it was kind of a "first attempt"; it will be revised later.

EDIT: Also, thanks for the encouragement. :) MAKES ME WANT TO WRITE HARDER.
