Black Screen after Quitting/Alt-Tabbing out of TF2

This problem started a couple of days ago and has been consistent since. Every single time I quit/alt-tab out of TF2 my entire screen goes black. I cannot use the windows key/ctrl-alt-del. Nothing. Nothing works. I have to forcefully restart my PC by holding the power button. I verified my game files (didn't work). I tried waiting for the black screen to go away (didn't work). I looked this up previously and the only thing I found that worked for people was an issue with a firewall called Comodo Firewall. I don't have this firewall installed and never have. Please if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. .

I have the same problem. And it can be fixed by going windowed mode but causes input lag on windows 8-10.

If you find a way to fix it please tell me

I had this problem about a half a year ago, do you have any popups/adware/malware on your computer that pops up in the background of your game so this happens every time? That was my problem, dumb thing made me crash mid-scrims a lot too :/.

No I don't have anything like that. I try to have very minimal things open while in-game to maximise FPS.

well check in cfg if dxlevel is same everywhere, then check what is your monitor hz then write in launch options for example

" -w 1920 -h 1080 -refresh 60 "

this is working for me :)
