Hello my name is ringo i play competitive tf2 for like 2years. today i play pub with my friend and i wanted to get people into competitive so i told them to go into etf2l and they thought im trying to scam them :( thats sad
so i thought we should make a project to get people in to competitive tf2 whoever want to get in add me

I feel the way you present information might be a reason why they would think that, even though that's kinda silly too.

Why don't we create a new game mode, with all classes and a lower skill ceiling to help introduce new players to competitive! We'll have pub maps and unlocks. Even spies, engineers and pyros will be welcome. We'll add more players to make it less strategic and more reliant on spam. We'll make it represent pub play as best we can to help with the transition!
And we'll call it 'Highlander'.

i love talking with new people about comp but i dont think we need a new website for it, the information is there already with playcomp.tf and such. If the people dont use these sites we cant change this with a new one but rather have to use the media they use like reddit and expose them to competitive that way

i don't think people are gonna respect you and listen to you if you yell at them in public games or spam them telling them to go to a website that sounds like a scam. you gotta realize that most of tf2's playerbase is just people want to play a casual game and not really get so much into it more than just a quick pub or a lobby. if people like something then they'll decide to learn more.
