this one's my baby. flat and narrow profile plus best of both worlds with an easy fix for the loose chipboard problem. that and logitech stuff never breaks down on me

the301stspartanYou're calling zowie and razer overpriced while endorsing the most expensive mouse brand in the game?

I am willing to pay a premium for a mouse that won't fall apart after a few months.
My old Mionix mouse lasted me 2 years before the clicks went out. My Roccat KPM i gave to my brother over a year ago after i stopped using it due to some hand pain i was experiencing is still working fine.

2 out of 3 Zowie mice i have owned the coating peeled in a few months. The one that didn't peel (EC1 eVo CL) made my hand sweat and had a terrible scroll wheel. All 3 had extremely heavy clicks.

As for Razer...
Every single Razer product i have owned has died in less than a year.

Well the peeling never happened to me, can only speak from experience... the coating material and scroll wheel is all preference though, I liked the heavier scrollwheel on the old EC1 and I much prefer the rubber coating on the -a to the coating on the naos, which feels awesome but has very bad grip (for me).

The peeling issue is serious but does this happen to a majority of zowies? If yours peeled after months, you should send them in and get a replacement and see if those peel as well.

From what I've heard, all of the Zowie mice are solid, and the general only good one Razer has is the Deathadder. I'd recommend trying them out in the store and finding out which shape is the most comfortable for you, because lets be honest: A perfect sensor is a perfect sensor.

I have a Zowie FK1 and my hand also sweats, but the coating doesn't peel. My guess is that they changed the coatings and the new 'batches' are the ones with the sweaty coating.

How greasy do you have to be for your coating to peel within months.

I had my original FK14 for the better part of two years and had ZERO issues with it. I ended up switching to the EC2-A just for the hell of it and this mouse has been incredible for me as well for 6ish months now.

a lot of good info in this thread. Another difference that I enjoy, that I dont see posted is mousefeet.

For example the DA has 3 mousefeet (2 small ones in the front and 1 large one in the back). Zowie EC1 has 1 large one in the front and 1 large one in the back. I find DA mousefeet wear out faster because of this.

For people who have had both a deathadder and a zowie ec1/ec2: Is the liftoff distance difficult to adjust to when switching between them? I'm heavily considering picking up an ec1. My deathadder is getting a little ratty.

ProSkeezHow greasy do you have to be for your coating to peel within months.

um not much? if cleaning a plastic device with a mildly damp tissue every week ruins the coating it's shitty build quality rather than us being greasy. i only used water too

zowie has a lower liftoff distance. I know friends who have put clear tape over their razer mice (mamba? depends on the sensor) to get the same effect. I wouldnt say it takes much to 'get used to it'. It just make liftoff movement more consistent for those with lower sensitivity.
