when i try to open steam it says "there was a problem with your steam installation. please reinstall steam." it doesn't say anything else, and steam clearly won't open.

just reinstall steam...reinstalling steam =/= reinstalling every single game on steam.

When you go to uninstall steam, I think it asks you if you want to keep all of your games and such installed (local files), so when you reinstall steam they will all be there.
