If you can't stand losing/dying to someone better I don't think you should be playing a PvP game.

the thing is im so used to being really good but now i feel handicapped because i have to play on notebook since i moved into my dorm. when ever i die to someone i know i would have killed them if i was on my home pc. i try and tell myself "dont worry nick if u were at home you would have won that fight" but it still gets me worked up

what is happening to you is pretty much the exactly same thing that was happening to me like a month or 2 ago. I was so mad every time I played the game, and I kept blaming everything but myself when I died. You gotta realize that sometimes people just hit their shots and there is nothing you can do to change that. My suggestion is to do what I did and uninstall the game and don't even think about it for a month+, then come slowly back into it by pubbing and MvM and then decide if you still want to try to play competitive.

Don't try to make yourself feel better. For all you know they were on a notebook as well. You'll get better with time.

enigmai'd say better hardware enables you to get better faster, but it won't necessarily push the ceiling on how good of a player you can become

Good advice from enigma in another thread. You just need to work through it or get a better set up. If you want it bad enough, you'll get it.

I went through a bad computer phase for a while, and honestly it's horrible. I found that you pretty much have to give up on taking the game seriously because you're going to die more than you would expect for yourself. Get a really good fps config and try to play with bare minimum settings, but if that doesn't work, just start playing the game differently. Focus on positioning and getting yourself into better situations (kind of hard for mge/dm I realize) and try playing classes that don't require super high fps (medic, heavy, engineer, etc.) since those classes are either easier to aim with or focus more on positioning/timing.

TL;DR: RELAX, TAKE YOUR TIME

enigmatake a break or play with people/different people

This. Playing with your friends or playing with relaxed people can make a huge difference in how you view the game. If you don't want to take TF2 ultra-seriously, there's no shame in playing with people who have the same mindset.
