I've been looking for a pair of new headphones as I'm using shitty IEM as my headphones at the moment, The HyperX is 35 dollars cheaper then the Cloud Il so i want to ask what's the difference between the two and is it worth the 35 dollars.

Thanks in advance.

The Cloud II has a 7:1 usb sound card and thats basically the only difference. So if surround sound isnt important to you the Cloud 1 should be fine. I personally like it though so thats why I got the Cloud II.

The HyperX Cloud is a good headset, but you will get people complaining that they hear their voice echoing from your mic occassionally

i have the I but the II is beter because it has one cable that doesn't split like the I which is dumb
To cables on the I because one is for mic one for sound

Single cable on II so when you use it on your phone you don't have a fucking dangling extra cable.

I had a pair of hyperx 1's and also the qpad headphones which is the exact same product. They are actually rebranded 'Takstar Pro80' and 'Takstar HI 2050' headphones.

So if you don't care about the mic you can get them for even cheaper.

Thanks for the replies, I am probably gonna get a pair of Cloud I, but hows the "7.1 surrond sound" on the Cloud 2 feels like?

i tried a pair in january and i wasn't that impressed with it (typical fake surround that you see on headsets). i wouldn't buy the cloud 2s for that. headset was pretty good otherwise.

Tough to describe its certainly not the best surround sound I have ever used but it is nice. In CS:GO I can work out which direction footsteps are coming from quite easily. And turning the Surround sound on and off while listening to music or movies does have quite a noticeable difference, and sounds a fair bit better with it enabled. So I'd recommend the cloud 2 if you have the $35 dollars to spare, if you need that money for something else get the cloud 1.
