So gw2 will be 75% off in about 2 hours, is this game still worth picking up or did the playerbase shrink to much?

The fact that an MMO that's B2P is going 75% off should speak for itself, but from what I've heard the game made a turn for the worse. Haven't personally played it, but I've seen some people come to Tera from GW2 that were not happy with the content they were getting (or lack of content to be exact). If it's still B2P and going 75% off, though, it might be still worth it since you won't have to worry about a sub. 10$ for a no sub game isn't bad, even if the game itself isn't stellar.

i played back when it launched until about a year after, most of my time spent was in pvp
i highly recommend you play through with a friend, gw2 has this feature where levels scale based on your zone so you dont have to worry about outleveling your friends

pvp is great, highly skill based with a mix between tab target and action combat (many abilities are aimed AoEs, everyone has a invul dodge that recharge over time)

wvw is fun if you get a group, its server vs server and most servers have their own mumbles you can join. its very zergy, but if youre skilled you can pull entertaining stuff like this off

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvkKHR8zz34

pve is extremely lack luster and boring and there is no gear treadmill like in a lot of other mmos. most people just go through the instances as fast as possible for gold (which is pretty useless and is practically only used for dyes/cosmetics)

leveling was probably the best out out of all the mmos ive ever played, i dont care at all for story but theres a good amount in there if youre into that.

great customization and exploration is actually a thing, there are jump puzzles and seasonal minigames that are pretty fun

once you get to the "end" (shortly after hitting level 80 and whenever you get bored of pvp/wvw) there isnt really anything to do. updates have mostly been geared towards one-time group and solo events.

gw2 is a short and sweet mmo, which is counter intuitive to the genre and a lot of the hate comes from that. its definitely past its glory days but dont let that stop you.

leveling is fun
doing stuff at 80 is not, no endgame at all

pvp is OK but i feel if you're gonna play a mmo for that, should probably play WoW

you can definitely get 10 dollars worth of enjoyment out of the game. there's a lot of content.

I think the general consensus was that it's a great game for people that don't have a lot of experience with mmos, but if you've played a lot of them you can see all the places it's lacking in

i've been thinking about buying this but would it still be good for some one that likes to play stuff solo?

the leveling is great. the endgame is lacking content, but that's hopefully an issue that they will address with the new expansion that is coming out. for 10 bucks, it's a bargain, and you're hedging your bet in case the expansion is good.

Its a full-fledged MMO for 10$, if you dont take it thats just crazy.
