How to toggle broesel's custom crosshairs?

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could toggle the custom crosshairs broesel has(specifically the cross with outline on) so that one weapon would have it and the rest wouldn't for scout. I tried the hud achievement tracker way, and it just scrambled my hud(which is broesel), and hid my crosshair. I looked into the minmode method, but it just lags the game. The vtf way wouldn't really help, since that is an image, but I tried that as well(but I didn't want to go thru the sv_pure thing everytime). Any help would be appreciated. I used this btw for the achievement tracker way: http://teamfortress.tv/thread/4134/how-to-use-multiple-hud-crosshairs .

Achievement tracker is what you want 100%. if it "scrambled" your hud, that just means you didn't do it right. If you follow that thread you linked to the letter, and edit your config so that hud_achievement_tracker is set to 1 for the weapon you want to have the crosshair and set to 0 when you don't want it on, it works. No other way to say it.

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? I did the following: I created HudAchievementTrackerItem.res in tf\custom\my_custom_stuff\resource\ui, and then pasted all the stuff from the pastebin. I deleted the crosshair from hudlayout.res. I then went into hudlayout.res, and then copied the cross file and pasted it into the appropriate spot in HudAchievementTrackerItem.res. I replaced where it said HudAchievementTracker with the second pastebin. I then used hud_achievement_tracker 1 and 0 to toggle for my weapons. In game, I used the replay update achievement(the million views one).

update: I was thinking maybe the problem was the hud, so I installed a version called broeselhud_blue, and that seems to have fixed it, besides a small delay in the crosshair showing up when switching weapons. If it's possible to fix that, that would be great. If not, no worries; I got it to work eventually.
