I had always wanted to get into competative gaming for a while now, and I've always blown it off because I needed a mic. (Not voice issues, I sound like a grown chubaca manchild) I needed to buy a good quality one, not my cheap peice of crap one I got from CVS for $15. So I finally have scapped some money to look for a new headset w/ mic. Any suggestions?

Looks like most people are using a separate mic and then their nice headphones so I'd recommend the same thing, could last longer than most headsets

Zalman mic

It's not expensive and it works very well. If you're only using it for gaming then you really don't need a $50 mic.

Logitech H150

Seems "cheap", but it's Logitech, so the quality's there regardless. You'll just need a pop filter / paper towel. Disregard if you want an over-ear headset.

I have some cheap mics from amazon..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DJOI8I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

People seem to hear me fine enough. Though I have it wrapped around a metal wire improvised to be a headset.

I use this mic when I don't want to set up my yeti. For being literally 100 times cheaper, the quality is fantastic. Example of practical use: http://youtu.be/piK_DThpFzM
