Hey there!

So exactly what the title says, I'm curious as to if I can store multiple huds and switch out to any at anytime? Or am I only able to run one in the custom hud folder.

I ask because I'm sometime in the future going to be running a cast for an Australian Highlander team I substitute for (check em out http://www.ugcleague.com/team_page.cfm?clan_id=8448)

And I myself run PVHUD but the hud itself doesn't have a suitable Spectator team line up and because of this when viewing first person it covers up health stats etc.

So I was wanting to know if it was possible to keep two in there and switch to either or.

Kind Regards

There are certain HUD files that will only update when you reboot TF2, most notably clientscheme.res. Since clientscheme.res is an important element of virtually all HUDs, you would not be able to switch HUDs without rebooting TF2.

I'm a bit confused as to why you would need to be able to do that, though. My understanding is that you play with PVHUD but want to switch to something else for casting, but if that were the case, you could easily reboot TF2 and switch HUDs before you start the cast. Assuming you have time to restart TF2, switching HUDs is as easy as deleting a folder and copy-pasting another. Are you somehow going to be playing AND casting in the same timeframe?

And if that doesn't work you could always just modify your Spectator Tournament player panels to fit your needs.

P.S. I'm pretty sure PVHUD has both custom TargetIDs and Spectator Tournament player panels which, to my recollection, don't clip. Are you using a modified/old version of PVHUD?

I suppose I could, my main thought was that I would have to remove the hud, cast, go back and reinstall. But it seems like that doesn't need to happen.

Schalalaa's link however has been very helpful.

Outside of 4plug, keeping a folder inside your /custom folder titled "other huds" with all your other HUD folders works fine for me.
