Tip Of The Hats hat money

So! With the help of all the gamers out there, rating the ToTH hat, it's already in the game with the latest update. Now, the money that the maker (ToTH) recieves from it, are obviously supposed to go to helping the kids with cancer, that is One Step Camp. In my opinion, this is a great idea. And very kind of the guys over at ToTH's part. Now, this is where I come in with my own idea. This might sound terribly stupid, but it's just an idea.

With the current state of the i52 donation page, we went off with a good start. 50% with over a month left, right? I honestly don't know how little they'll get out of each purchase the hat will get. But recently (the last couple o' days) it seems that less and less donations are coming in. Could an idea be (with the approval of everybody needed) that some of the money could go to i52? Again, maybe just me being dumb. But it was an idea. An idea I'd like to hear other peoples take on.

(Also, for anybody wondering, no. I have nothing to do with the stream, or organisation that is ToTH)

All money that we receive from the sales of the Tipped Lid will ALWAYS go to One Step. Under no circumstances will this change.

Again, this was just a "dumb" idea on my part. I didn't know the rules about it was that strict, and I understand why you wouldn't do it know.

Edit: I can't close the thread, so know I'll have to hear about how stupid I am. From several people.

slopawI didn't know the rules about it was that strict, and I understand why you wouldn't do it know.

It's not about rules, it's about honesty and the principle of the thing. The purpose of that hat is to give money to charity. To suddenly pull the rug out from under people and divert funds to an entertainment fundraiser would be incredibly dishonest and would destroy any trust that people have in Tip of the Hats.

OP I think you're just being a little overexcited. It's cool that a vendible item has been published that's part of a project founded by competitive community members, but it's not an actual representative of the competitive scene. I understand how you feel, that this seems to be a precedent for TFTV et al. having their own item for purchase, but I expect Valve is more inclined to have money go to a charity than some deviants misusing their game.

Solution: Make a hat, start upvoting it and get it put in to be a fundraiser for I55? If we need good hat ideas, im sure Tagg has one (or 919498274981390).
