ESO killing my internet connection.

Okay, so this is weird. It started around 2AM yesterday. I can log in and be brought to the character selection screen just fine. I can also get into the world just fine as well. I can play for about 45 seconds to a minute, then everything stops being responsive as things usually do when you lose internet connection. I alt tab to make sure, and it's confirmed when websites half load, barely load or don't load at all.

I'm on wifi with no way of using a wired connection at the moment. My download is ~25 down ~10 up with wifi.

speedtest - http://www.speedtest.net/result/3429752632.png

I've tried excluding the game's exe and the launcher's exe from being scanned by MSE in case it would be finding them as potential threats and blocking network activity. For the hell of it, I just ended up excluding the game entirely (all folders, processes, etc). That didn't seem to work. I tried having the launcher closed too with no dice. I finally decided to try turning off real time protection/closing one of the two exes for MSE that I'm allowed to. This is when I was able to log in and get into the world for about a minute started happening.

I have no idea why this is happening. It was working fine up until yesterday morning. I just wanna game. Please help.

Have you tried resetting your router?

Every so often I'll have days when I'll just keep disconnecting from games for no reason, then find out that my entire internet is dead. Usually it tends to be my router dying. Unplugging it for a few seconds usually fixes it, but sometimes it just dies again after a few minutes.

I've tried restarting my router a few times. No dice.

This problem makes absolutely zero sense.

So I have a program that I need to connect to a wifi network. It will let me know when I'm connected to the internet or when I'm not and only connected to my router. When I launch the game, it says I lose my internet connection. I can confirm this by websites trying to load for however long. I exit the game and almost immediately I can start surfing the web again just fine.

Let's go back to the log in screen. No internet connection apparently. Websites continuously trying to load with no luck. Let's try to enter my information anyway. Oh hey, it worked. Well, now I choose my character and select play so that it will log me into the world. That worked too. Everything within the world seems to be working properly.

I can test this by swinging my weapon. If I can't use it anymore, I know everything else has stopped responding within the game. The only thing I'll be able to do is run and jump for whatever the reason. 95% of the time if I try to interact with something such as an NPC or a resource node, everything will stop responding. The other 5% are the rare times where I can play normally for 2-3 minutes and then it happens.

The funny thing about this is despite all of that happening, I can still talk to people in the game. I've already come to the conclusion that something about this game and my internet connection are not getting along. But what's weird is that it only started happening yesterday a little after midnight. I just don't get it.

tldr that doesn't work

Well, I guess it's not actually ESO. I opened Steam and TF2 and no servers were showing up. Tried joining off people but came back with "server is not responding".

It seems like only online games are affected. Difference between ESO and TF2 is that I can have TF2 open and nothing happens other than not being able to play whereas with ESO I can't seem browse or whatever else.

Just a wild guess, but maybe your wifi adapter/router are causing issues/breaking down in these scenarios. Network communication for games are almost always different protocols/methods than regular HTTP internet traffic. Games require a steady stream of packets, whereas downloading webstie resources opens up a handful of connections and then stops. It could be that your wifi card can't handle that much throughput for some reason, or your router is doing some weird QOS stuff.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to help.

Just me. Used to be my two roommates, then I cut it down to just one of them and now it's just me.

Either way, why would this just start being an issue yesterday when I've been on wifi with the same router and wifi adapter for the last year? There haven't been any drastic changes to my router settings or anything that physically could have messed up the router or wifi adapter either.

I used to have a some similar issues to yours, and turned out, it was my router was thinking that I was getting DDOSed every time I tried to ping or join a server.
After raging for a few days being not able to play anything, or connect anywhere, I went into the router settings, and found a setting which was something related to "Flood", unticked it, and after restarting the router, everything started working again.

Yo Kirby. Idk if this will help you, but I occasionally get that same problem as you.
What I do to fix it is restart my network adapter. So go into your computer's Network and Sharing Center, then in the upper left corner click into 'Change adapter settings'. Find the one that's connected to your wifi, and then right click and disable. Wait 5-10 seconds, re-enable. If this doesn't work, I'm sorry. :[

lol I did what you suggested, Purple, and the icon in the Network Connections window disappeared and I had no way to enable it the same way I did for disabling it. I had to reinstall the drivers :V

#10, I don't believe there's a "flood" setting or something related to it in my router settings. Are you talking about the router control panel that requires a username/password to view or something else? If the latter, then yeah, nothing I can find related to that.

This game is just a connection hog for no good reason, my brother plays it and my speed test that usually reads 60 down & 6 up drops to 14/6 my other friend plays it on his DSL (3/.5) with no issues. definitely a glitch in the game. I have a high dollar gaming router and resetting my modem and router 1000 times does nothing. It's the game 100%
