Hi

I present to you this playlist.

I enjoy frag videos a lot. A lot a lot. I also find one of my favorite components is music choice. While I am fond of discovering new songs through frag videos (an act I like to call "stealing music"), I also like music I listen to. I oftentimes think to myself, "Hey, I'd like to see frags with this music."

Thus, this playlist was created.

Be it a short edit, or a full blown frag video, I'd just like to put this out there as a "Hey, please use music I enjoy in your frag videos if you like it too."

I will be curating this playlist. I understand it is on Spotify, but you should all be able to see the tracks regardless whether you use it or not, and besides, I have some that aren't on Spotify and thus you'd have to search them up anyways. More than a few of these are ones I'd like to use for myself, but I neither have enough frags nor am I good enough for some of these songs, so I'd like for them to see the light of day.

If you use any of these, thank you, please link me so that I can oggle your frags and enjoy.

PS: May be worth noting that I also have a YT playlist of frag videos I personally enjoy, and the playlist has a relatively low threshold of requirements to get added, so most things posted in here will probably get added.

this music seems a bit too passive to hold a fragvid together.

Honestly googler has used some of these, i swear.

kirbyyou know, i'm all for the glitch mob era in frag videos to be a thing again.

'cept the new album was recycled garb-age (as in an ah-zh ending), I only liked Becoming Harmonious

Canada_Down: the current list

For those that don't know, the ones with the icon of the paper w/music note are local files.

PS: "Turn Down for What" is meant to be on there as a joke, but I'd totally still enjoy a frag video with it

Also: am not familiar with googler, please link
Also: Passive for a frag video, a good example is Quick Kiss by Lapalux. The song is perfect for an edit, a big buildup for a single frag. These songs aren't all meant for just a full frag video.

I will be deleting already used songs. I'm not a fan of double-use songs, for arbitrary reasons, so I won't fuel it. Thanks Moritz, you literally just fulfilled two of my requests without anyone doing any work (that wasn't done already, infinite thanks to frag video makers since I get high on that shit on the regs)

although tbh I wish the Ta-Ku one lasted longer...the song has more "worthy" parts

Lionxwhat happened to when some frag videos used to get like thousands of views? did like people just leave?

no, i don't believe so. i assume that most of the older frag videos with a "ton" of views were during a time where there weren't dozens of people trying to make them. basically my logic behind this thought is that the less videos being published, the more desire there was to watch them. plus at this time, seeing cool stuff like double/triple airshots or some insanely ridiculous airshot or 4-5k headshot frags weren't common. like 90% of videos made are always full of that. which is fine. you don't always want to publish something with stuff you find mediocre or a waste of time watching.

i feel like it's either that or the simple fact that most of the videos made now aren't that original. of course the more videos people pump out, the less original they become. there's nothing really unique about videos anymore. the one thing, however, that can help this from being a problem for however long it will last is integrating SFM into these videos more. i've done it, cube has done it, and others have done it, but in very simplistic and not really catchy ways. it's difficult applying unique visuals to transitions and not make it end up overedited. considering most videos seem to make the majority of their transitions noticeably edited, anyway. and you know people will harp on the editor if they see it as overedited. it's the way things go.

there's also hype. the more advertising a video gets and the more hype it gets, the more popular it will become by default. you want them to want to see your video before it's up, or even finished. it's just how it goes. it doesn't matter if your video is in reality terrible, though it helps not being terrible. if you advertise enough and give it enough hype, you'll at least get a good amount of views. albeit not as much as a video with a lot of hype that also isn't terrible. that way people will share and the cycle will continue.

oh, and don't get me wrong. i'm not trying to look like my videos are unique or special or anything. in fact, the reasons i feel that are stopping most videos from getting a lot of recognition are the same reason i know why mine aren't. my most viewed video, i believe, is Platinum's season whatever frag video (which i feel safe to say fortunately saved his frag video status after I Am Platinum l0l) and that simply is solely because of the hype behind it. invite player and all the benefits of being one? check. frag video? check. known editor (disregarding any negatives/positives surrounding my videos)? check. advertisement? check. hype from previous items in list? check. easy view gain.

edit: there's also the issue that some people want to see main/invite players dunking on each other rather than an open player making plays in a pug or something equivalent. not as important as this is becoming less of an issue from what i can tell.

sorry for the essay.

tl;dr it's either because so many people make videos now they're not as desired as when there weren't many being made or because there are so many being made that aren't unique or special and no one cares that much anymore.
