Just curious if anyone has this yet? Apparently just came out last month with two new features:

1. "Motion Blur" technology which sounds like a non-hack version of lighboost?? Not sure if that is actually true or not, but was hoping on some clarification.
2. Low blue light - which supposedly reduces eye strain and headaches (ala gaming glasses)..once again no clue how accurate this is.

Other specs are like the previous T model...144hz, 1ms GTG, FPS mode, black equalizer.

I have a first gen 120hz Samsung 2233rz that i've been using the last 4 years, so i'm definitely looking to upgrade. Totally willing to take the plunge if it's worth it. Also willing to hear out any other good suggestions.

For reference:

Eh, seems like marketing spew to me, I'd just get the Asus VG248QE if you really feel the need to upgrade.

Yea, the Asus VG248QE or the Benq XL2420TE. Although, the new motion blur thing does seems like a benq's own version of strobelight. Try to search for some reviews, maybe that will help you out.

Thx guys, i'll look into the asus as well.

Because it's so new, i haven't seen any customer or consumer product reviews for it yet. I'm just basing what i posted off of previews of it i read back in December, and the description on their website. $120 is a big difference between the asus and benq, so that's definitely a big turning point if the motion blur isn't what i think it is.

Spend $100 more for a G-sync Asus VG248QE, if it's within your budget.

I love me some Linus.

The only problem is it not being 1440p monitor with that refresh rate. But I'm sure that'll be in the next few years.

And to add to that, I love my xl2420te. Bought it 'cheap' on Amazon for $280 before Christmas.

Asus showed a 1440p 144hz G-sync monitor at CES, but with quite a hefty price tag. There was also someone around with a 4k g-sync monitor too, I think it was Asus but I can't quite remember.

The 2420z has built in backlight strobing so you don't need an nVidia card to see the benefits of lightboost. ( http://www.blurbusters.com/faq/60vs120vslb/ ) If you do have an nVidia card, then Benq is gonna be releasing G-Sync versions of these which you may be interested in. ( http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/30.htm#benq_xl_g-sync )http://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/preview/

tl;dr: Spend some time on http://www.blurbusters.com/ if you're looking into a 120hz monitor.

Phaser1. "Motion Blur" technology which sounds like a non-hack version of lighboost?? Not sure if that is actually true or not, but was hoping on some clarification.

Yep. It can be turned on/off via the monitor menu and works on amd/nvidia...

It's (optionally) also very tweakable by third party utility. I have an XL2720Z and BENQ Blur Reduction (Version 2) is better than LightBoost -- it is adjustable with the new Blur Busters Strobe Utility.

The page links to installing V2 firmware on all "Z-series" (BENQ XL2411Z, XL2420Z, XL2720Z) or verifying the monitor you obtain will already have V2 firmware installed.

Definitely a must. If you buy direct from the benq us site I believe they are guaranteeing the V2 firmware.

Sweet monitor :D

Interesting, thx for the update. I'm probably going to hold out until the official G Sync monitors come out in Q2 and see the comparison. If those are as good as i've been reading, it will really come down to a matter of price. The modded monitors with G sync now are around 550 to 600...so if they do drop to $400 i'll most likely just get one of those. If not the z series looks to be a solid upgrade.

Phaser2. Low blue light - which supposedly reduces eye strain and headaches (ala gaming glasses)..once again no clue how accurate this is.

You can play with the hue settings to accomplish the same thing. It doesn´t have the swag of some Gunnars, tough.

A (free) program that does this automatically is http://justgetflux.com/

For reference, you´d almost certainly find one of these used for a much lower price on Craigslist or Ebay. A nice alternative would be the gl2450. You can get one from Amazon for 160 bucks and after having fiddled with the settings (the stock ones are horrendous) it´s amazing. That said, it isn´t 120hz.
