I'm not trying to be funny or anything. I'm just being realistic and trying to help people out so I don't have to read the news and see a fellow TF2'er was killed by another psychopath.

I'm sure they won't mention he plays TF2 either. But his TF2 friends would certainly find out and there would be a post made on here about it which I would eventually see.

I'm almost certain they'll figure out he played TF2 and then for another month we'll hear about how violence in video games cause murder.

Call his parents, as he's their responsibility. Explain that he's walked into your brother's house without permission, and started going through his desk and taking the cigarette butts out of the ash tray. Yeah, it's weird, but don't make it sound weird. Just state it matter-of-factly, because trust me, his parents know it's weird, and this likely isn't the first weird thing he's done and they've had to talk to him about. Growing up we had neighbors with a handicapped child, and I can assure you it's really hard to be those parents, so don't make it harder. And then just state firmly that the next time this happens, you will be calling them *and* the cops. If they protest, say that not all the locks in your house work, and remind them that their child is their responsibility.

Start with the parents, see where that goes, and escalate quickly.

If it was my dog, the kid would probably be dead. (130lbs German Shephard)

My brother's dog is a medium sized mutt mix who is possibly the nicest dog in the world. her name is loki and i doubt she'd ever attack someone, even if she got backed into a corner. she just got excited about him being in the house and tried to jump on his lap and clawed him, so he bit her on the back of the neck. kid is fucking weird

Did you even read what he was saying? He was just saying if the disabled kid started being violent again in a serious manner. I find it dubious that anyone would be against using a gun in a situation where someone is being violent towards your family. Regardless of the fact that the kid is disabled, I don't think that is morally wrong. He's not saying "lol shoot the mentally retarded kid ASAP xd", just to have it as a safeguard.

There's pretty much no chance a gun would be necessary here unless the kid does something really stupid and bites more than just a dog, but you never know.

I guess I understand yaug's viewpoint after he explained himself more clearly because my family has a gun. It's properly locked up and in a very safe location so little ones can't kill themselves or anyone with it, and in all of the 24 years I've lived here it hasn't really been used once, but having it in case of a serious emergency is decent. He was approaching it from a "worst case scenario" viewpoint, a.k.a. the only viewpoint a gun should ever be used ideally.

He's probably severly autistic. I once knew a kid also named michael who is very similar to the kid you described. People with severe problems like that don't understand what they're doing something wrong so he's probably confused at the reactions. Autism affects empathy, which means that if he has a very bad case of it he might not realize that dogs, like humans, have feelings like his. The best thing to do is not get the police involved and lock your doors. Or, if his parents are always drunk and high, CPS is a good thing to call if he's autistic and not getting the proper attention from his parents. There's no really pretty solution.

he isn't disabled, when i say slow i don't mean retarded or disabled in anyway, he's just real fucking stupid.

I still disagree with the idea of using any kind of weapon or form of violence on him, he's just a dumbass kid who basically walked into my brother's house and bit his dog and has my mom paranoid.

Actually, if he's real stupid and has trouble forming a sentence, there's a good chance he's retarded (lower than 70 IQ). Also based on his lack of empathy for the dog, he's probably autistic.

People are only saying to use violence/weapons on him if he attacks your family, decides to bite more than just a dog, etc. Highly unlikely, but still.

Anyways, make sure your doors/windows are locked and talk to the kid's parents if you can. Police need to be a last case scenario if he has any real mental condition (you just say he is really fucking stupid which is worrying if he bit a dog then, and isn't just autistic) since they tend to handle people with mental conditions really poorly.

I'm absolutely against the use of a gun in that situation. There's never an excuse to kill someone. Call the police, lock your doors, find a method of keeping him from reaching a position where he threatens someone's life. Nobody needs to die here. If you think the kid should be shot if he bites someone, I too have to seriously question whether you can handle having a gun in your house. Maybe that's just me, but I refuse to believe there's a way this could turn that makes death a solution. Also, if you really do have to use the gun, please don't aim to kill. This kid doesn't deserve to die even if he's threatening your life. Even if he TAKES your life.

i guess everyone forgot what this thread is about. some people in my neighbourhood buy ADT signs and put them outside of their homes or do some sort of check up on their house before they go to sleep or stay in for the night. you arent afraid of this kid causing problems, you're concerned anout your mother's fears, the people posting in this thread just missed that. lock up your house together and that should alleviate some problems but i doubt that there is any true way to remove all of her fears.
