I didn't think the Conjuring was anything special. It just felt like your typical family moves into a haunted house and the dog can sense something and the baby has a ghost friend. The same as countless other horrors. But if you're looking for a popcorn movie that will entertain you for a short amount of time then it's better than paranormal activity or some other shit.

This video recommends some pretty good horror movies, but just skip the first two minutes because he just talks about a load of bullshit

There's a mini series (UK) called "Dead Set" which is well worth the download and your time. It's a zombie flick but it's set around a Big Brother house where they don't know it's even going on at first since they are cut off form the world.
