Verticality. I like changes in heights.

i liiiiiike
-control points that aren't just a square/circular flat block of nothing
-a good skybox and themed idea, although obviously not taking that idea too far. metalworks might be an alright designed map but it's so goddanged ugly and stupid and the night skybox is boring as hell.
-toy with shorter walls to encourage things that are awesome like demomen shooting pipes over house in badlands.
-i love me some ramps but stairs have their applications from time to time to encourage more balanced play -- it works well to use them in more enclosed areas to sort of balance scout and soldier skirmishes.

as for my wishlist: probably a shitty idea but i read it forever ago on natf2: puddles would be awesome (encourages landing in them to stop yourself from getting damaged). Some slanted horizontal/vertical areas to encourage speedshots or maybe some other sort of glide off the wall premise would be cool. maybe even some moving structures but that's already getting a bit too understandably retarded. A well done night theme with encouragement on changes in visibility would be so cool if it ever happened. Maybe a productive use of water to encourage "waterslides" for soldiers and some sneakier routes but nothing too expansive like cp_well attempts.

i don't think its useful to think in only command point style maps, im sure there is potential in AvD and (maybe) ctf. taking tips from the community is helpful if you want an idea of the elements in some of the currently played tf2 maps,, you should try to think about doing something new
