Lawena doesn't launch with HLAE

So I've recorded all my first person shots in lawena just fine, but once I decided to add smooths with HLAE, lawena no longer opens. I've followed all the steps in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzjFappRPMc&t=592s&ab_channel=ShearsTF by shears and ive set everything up but when I open lawena and start tf2 it enters the loading screen and then crashes about 10 seconds later. Please let me know if you have any solutions, thanks!

make sure hlae is the latest version + uncheck casting essentials on lawena if you have that enabled. it's caused weird crashes for me in the past
