ayo, in the market for a new controller since my old 360 is super dead at this point and while i wouldnt be opposed to just jump on to some xbox one controller (which aparently has a better Dpad than the 360) i figured i get some opinions on some other options from here first since the xbox one is like 70 bucks and maybe theres some 3rd party ones that actually hold up.

honestly it depends what are you willing to do with it
if you are casual game enjoyer and ur not willing to spend a lot, ur using windows and your way of doing things is "ok, i want to play games on a gamepad and i don't give a fuck about the setup, i want to do it right here right now" anywhere then i think xbox one series x pad will be a good choice for you
make sure you will get some decent rechargable batteries, these are fucking beast from my knowledge:
https://www.amazon.de/Duracell-HR6DX1500-geringer-Selbstentladung-2500mAh-Orange-Schwarz/dp/B00E3DVQFS
tldr xbox one series x pad is currently the best stock pad around with a decent price, some alternative would be looking at stuff from hori (this company makes controllers for competitive fighting games)

however if your pockets are full of euros and you want to get some ultimate shit, look up in the internet if there are gamepad with brook universal fighting board because this PCB is the best PCB made for game controllers as it's allowed in probably any competitive fighting games, also brook pcb lets you connect the controller to mostly any modern game console, look up on their supported list:
