dx90 fixes it but the lens effect on the sniper scope is something I can't get used to, if anyone has a solution to either one of the problems I'd really appreciate it.

You remember the last time it was stable on 81? Its been a long time since i used 8x in tf2 but I used to have an at the time yearish? outdated drivers for my gt630 due to drivers moving forward giving me a lot of headaches with similar pauses and frequent crashes tabbing in after a black screen.
might be able to just test rando drivers from few months ago and hope it works.
