g400 -> zowie fk transition

I've used the g400/mx518 for years and I've developed this claw grip. Apparently mice like the zowie fk are designed with claw grip in mind and I'm wondering if I can get some feedback from someone who went from using the g400 style mice to a zowie fk or similar mouse. What kind of grip do you use? Was it an easy transition?

im pretty sure thats a palm grip
a claw grip is like for a g9x

but yeah it should be about the same, the zowie fks have more of a bump on the center of your palm and are less countoured around your thumb

Sorry, that's a bad picture. Here's a profile view: http://i.imgur.com/gugjsyY.jpg
Only my fingertips touch the mouse.

I use a G400 with more or less the same grip as you, my thumb isn't really pointing into the mouse, it's just resting parallel to the mouse. I bought a Zowie AM and tried it for a few weeks but it just felt uncomfortable to hold. I'm not sure if it was the shape of the mouse or my grip, but it just didn't feel very good to hold. Occasionally my hand would cramp up. I'm not sure how relevant this would be for you because the FK has a slightly different design than the AM, and I haven't tried the FK yet.

edit: just saw your second picture, my grip is closer to a palm grip than yours, so not really the same.

oh, yeah the zowie should feel about the same, the thing i really noticed was the pickups, i would use my thumb to use the left edge of the g400 and pickup with that but its a lot different with the zowie.

Also the zowies bump is a little bit higher so you may end up feel more comfortable by just doing a full palm.

The sides of the zowie fks are just more simple

You used more of a fingertip grip rather than a claw grip. I think you'll find it discomforting due to how big your hands are, it'll definitely take a while to get used to.

I went from the g400 to the zowie ec2 evo i highly recommend getting this mouse. I used to use a fingertip grip on my shitty mouse before my g400 and it was a hard transition when i used the g400 (like rjing and turning in general) The zowie ec2 evo will be fine for fingertip/claw as well as palm. It's kind of a hybrid.

Zowie EC2 eVo is designed with a claw grip in mind. Might want to try that.

I used mx516, then mx518, then g400. After all that, I found adjusting to a zowie ec1 evo really easy. I think you'd dig it. Keep in mind the ec2 evo is smaller than ec1 evo. Looks like you got some mitts, so i'd go ec1 evo.

I went from the G400 to the FK and I'd say the FK is more suited to your grip than the G400. The biggest change for me was actually the weight difference, since the FK feels so much lighter.
