I can't figure out how to change the hitsound

I have my hitsound under tf/custom/dingaling/sound/ui/hitsound.wav and it is even in VPK format. Why isn't it working?

your op suggests that its in a folder called hitsound, remove it from that folder and put it in ui
edit also im pretty sure it has to be called ~~hitsound.wmv, meaning its a wmv file~~

(must have worded that wrong) it is a .wav called hitsound

Apparently basshead had the same problem and found the answer but I have no idea how they did it.

Try it without putting it in a vpk, not sure if hitsounds still don't work in vpks.
