I was just curious as to what happened when the money was donated and if there was any response as to the amount donated/curiosity as to where the money came from. I'm just a bit curious because once the charity drive was over I either missed the part of the stream where the money was shown to be sent on paypal or it wasn't live streamed at all.

I mean after all 30k was raised, seeing someone send the money would be appreciated. There was an emphasis on this being a small charity that djc's knew well so I was wondering if he got any news from OneStepCamp.

Sorry if this comes across like I'm asking where did the money go, but I'm just curious and all since it is 30k.

Gonna have to ask sean for proof. I told him to take screenshots, though he does have the One Stemp Camp guy on skype and has his phonenumber so proof can/will be provided if he doesn't have a screenshot of the transaction.

The transaction would still be in his paypal history, too

Well, in my opinion I still believe that there should be and should have been more feedback and proof that the money was infact donated to charity live. Screenshots can be faked, live footage can't.
IMO It's just crazy how there was so much work put into the livestream and fundraiser and at the end of it we couldn't even see proof that the money actually went to where it was donated.

If livefootage or screenshots can be provided i'd appreciate it

Note I believe that the money was donated. But i'd like to see proof. that's all. A stream showing seanbud loading up the paypal and the donation with inspect element toggled on a clean browser would do..

One doesn't simply forget to screenshot a 30k+ donation.

Spoke with Jeff, the President of the organization.

Sean and he were setup to make the transfer two weeks ago but it was held up due to a number of donations still coming in and Jeff being out of town for some time.

Jeff is going to be reaching out to Sean in the next couple work-days to finish off the transfer. Which is good news.

Additionally, I wanted to let you know that the TF2 community, and those "outsiders," who contributed single handedly made it possible to send 30 kids to camp. That is pretty amazing.

There is also some other awesome news, but I will let Sean tell you about that.

Anyone live in Chicago? ;)

morning_foxOne doesn't simply forget to screenshot a 30k+ donation.

yeah he probably stole the money

Edit: I edited the quote. My sarcastic response comes from that part of your response. Makes it seem like you really want to start some shit. Proof will come as soon as Sean gets home and sees my message linking to this thread.

Literally nothing else needs to be said unless Sean can't come up with a screenshot.

Info:

I spoke with Jeff on the phone 2 minutes ago and he now has access to the paypal account and the gmail associated with it. He is going to attempt adding the bank account and doing with withdrawal in the next couple days. Here's proof the paypal still has the funds:

Questions:
The total says $32,544.60, I thought it was $35,000?
There are several reasons for this difference. Paypal's fee is the largest portion of it. They cannot void fees entirely, and unfortunately I couldn't get them to retroactively apply the reduced fee for non-profits once I added the business's tax info on the account. It's only a small difference between the two however, and next time hopefully the fee will be reduced. Other reasons include Echecks that didn't clear, disputed payments/refunds, and some people donated straight through onestep's website for personal reasons and not to the paypal. I was able to have imraising manually add the larger ones to the total and this accounts for ~$500+ as well.

Why hasn't this been done already?
OneStepCamp does not have a paypal set up. Hopefully this changes next year. There was no easy way to get the funds from the paypal to onestep, so our solution was to give Jeff the access to the account and he can do the withdrawal himself once he attached his bank account to the paypal. We are still wrapping up this event and we were using the email to contact raffle winners. I have started using my personal email to try and contact the winners now though, and Jeff now has access to the email associated with the paypal.

What does "Anyone live in Chicago?" mean?
Jeff is incredibly thankful with the work we put into this and the amount that was raised. He wants to show his appreciation for it and has invited me and possibly others to attend one of their events in June for some photos and chill time etc. I don't have many details on this yet I'm gonna be talking to him more next week about it.

I apologize for the lack of info. I'll try to keep people more up to date on this.
