This doesn't seem completely legit somehow. Not entirely sure what the point of a monitor with that high a contrast ratio would be. Are they using some random bs math to frig the result like the time monitors stopped quoting their black to black scores and started quoting grey to grey as refresh rates?

that contrast ratio is just a marketing gimmick. its the dynamic contrast ratio which manufactures can set to basically whatever they want. the real contrast ratio of it seems to be 1000:1

That's just the contrast ratio between the white's at the highest back light brightness and the blacks at the lowest back light brightness.
