High Choke while streaming

Hey,
today I tried out streaming TF2 just for da lulz. I use OBS+the game capture plugin. My FPS are fine, and the game is not micro-stuttering, but the choke in TF2 goes up to 10-40 while streaming, so it´s hard to play. I know that 2 Mbit upstream isn´t much but I only stream 540p resolution with 1000kbit/s, so it should be fine. The stream is lag-free though.
Any advice to fix the choke?

thank you

I face similar problems, only reason why I don't stream frequently.

Do a 12MB upload test here (select the closest mirror first) and verify that you can indeed deliver the speeds you think you can. Avoid the automatic test as it seems to under-report speeds.

One possible explanation for your stream being fine while your game is laggy is that QoS might be prioritizing your stream traffic over your game traffic. If the line is nearly saturated, then this would result in your stream just barely being smooth while all other traffic suffers.

I was already thinking about the QoS. Is there anything I can do against this

In OBS, try enabling the "Automatic low latency mode" in "Advanced" options if you haven't already. You can leave the "Latency tuning factor" at the default value of 20. (To be honest, I'm not sure what that variable does.)

Thank you !
it really got better with this option. I will try to fiddle around with QoS settings on my router tomorrow to make it perfect :)

I couldn't find an option for in my QoS settings to priortize a port range. I will give tomato a try. Thank you and I'm glad everything worked out for you.
