I'm just gonna pretend that the real reason the flyers suck is because Comcast owns them.

TheFragileSuper-TheFragileerkstonSuper-ok so maybe if mason can recover from his injury the flyers can win but if not oh well dream is dead ripgoaltending was definitely not the reason for the loss
The truth that 99% of Flyers fans don't want to admit for almost 15 years now.
in some situations, its the lack of hustling or lack of taking shots on net, but sometimes like the hurricanes game, when you let 3 goals through the five hole, it gets a little ridiculous at some points. is it too late to take back bernie parent?

It's not that letting a goal in through five-hole is embarrassing or should never happen.

The Flyers have had very good offense for a very long time, and actually very good goaltending as well. Their defense is what kills them. Their defense is laughable, which is why you see their goalies get shit on. If you put any top 3 goalie in the Philadelphia net, I promise you'll see a very similar result to what's happening to them now.

Bobrovsky is an integral part of Columbus, Emery (when he got traded to Chicago) set an NHL record and won a cup with Chicago, and Bryzgalov is making Minnesota a very real threat. Yet, I didn't hear one good thing about any of them in Philadelphia because their fans are so painfully critical of their goalies. Though with the Bobrovsky, Emery, and Bryzgalov examples I just gave above, what do all of those teams have in common?

A solid defense.

Oh, and when Philadelphia picked up Pronger, they almost won a cup the same year. Then he got injured, and then they fell off. Hm, weird.

when you look at the games that the flyers play, you do notice how hard they struggle trying to get the puck out of the zone. i agree with you that they have big difficulties with positioning and clearing. once they clear out of the zone, however, as i mentioned before, another thing the flyers do is play around with the puck for way too long. they never take shots, and eventually they are back at square one, having issues clearing the puck. you are right about their defense, but they have other issues that add up on top of their defense that hinders them greatly.

And I agree, it's just that 99.9999999999% of Philadelphia fans are firm believers that their quarterbacks and goaltenders are they reason why they lose every year, which is hilarious.

$20 says they go after Webber in the off season. Ever since Nashville matched the offer sheet we gave him (which they really can't afford) they have been stacking up on young d-men with enormous potential. They need offense, and Philly is loaded with young offensive Tallent. We can afford to sacrifice anyone not named Claude Giroux to get webber. We can also pretty safely trade away 1st round picks for the next few years because of all the young players we have.

Our offense is fucking scary. Mason is the best goalie we have had in a long time (maybe since Hextall), and if we pick up webber on D it's GG.

matt cooke has ended some stupid amount of careers, and caused quite a bit of injuries.

theres a difference between being a goon and just straight injuring people

Super-r.i.p flyers. mason played his heart out poor guy

since when did dropping pucks constantly, throwing punches at rangers who come inches within the crease, and being surrounded by filthy "i'm gonna crosscheck this guy into an interference call heh" defensemen equate to playing your heart out? he looked like a paranoid pansy out there to me.....

As a ranger fan, I feel that mason played really good in all the games he was in. If he didn't play as good as he did, the rangers could have had easily 4 goal leads in one period against flyers. That being said, can't wait to see rangers vs penguins now :)

Yeah if anything, the Av's vs. Chi would have been a worse series, COL vs. CHI was 5-0 where was MIN vs. CHI was 3-2 in regular season.
