I have almost 900 hours on Soldier alone and I still suck.

Just keep at it. Either you will end up a loser with no life who's moderately good at some of the classes in TF2, or you will give up and become a highly successful normal person with a social life, friends, and other enjoyable things.

The choice is yours.

I had 500 hours total on soldier at season 5 ESEA lan, but I started playing competitively on a team when I had 10 hours on soldier so those 500 hours were almost all 6's play. I think I had around 750 season 10.

The hours don't matter whatsoever as long as you're improving at a rate you're comfortable with, and if you want to get better faster, then just play more or put more thought into your play. The only hours that truly matter are the ones you put each week to maintain your DM, and that's different for everybody.

100 hours of DM or demo review or scrims > 1000 hours of anything else.
