as it stands now things are too word-of-mouth which is very inefficient for learning. to get any real answers you have to know where to go, and generally if u do u dont need them. outside of dm the bridge from invite to lower divs is artificial, there isn't much for advanced players to look at that wouldn't involve loading a demo in-game which is aids. ideally a high invite player would make a series over more complicated ideas like pressuring, drying, exchanging, etc... if enough time passes and i'm better i probably will

but the priority right now is rgl pugs. these are the worst pugs ive played in my life and i can't believe this is what's come out. embarrassing is an understatement that the average joe can make a discord server survive longer and with better pugs while faceit died 3 times when u literally got paid money for playing. at this rate rgl pugs will be doa when it needs to be a big step forward.

i think a big thing that really matters is just having a space where anyone can play the format in the same casual way as joining any other community server, i wish some good community servers host would just mass-host open and public 6s/hl/whatever

As a new player, I will say that you can watch video tutorials and map reviews till the cows come home but nothing really compares to actual experience playing and trying to put that knowledge to practice. Newbie Mixes, pugs, and eventually something like the TF2CC Newbie Cup, which is probably the closest experience to actual league play in terms of having a practice schedule and a consistent team for a few weeks, in addition to easy access to a more experienced mentor.

Also, not even main calling, just how to comm properly needs to be in the new player curriculum. Communication is the biggest thing separating comp from casual play and I'm surprised at how many people trying to play AM and even IM fail to provide even the most basic comms and will say like 5 words all game. Learning to talk while shooting is a skill that needs to be learned and practiced.

meds knowing when to be passive, knowing when they need to be verbal about going passive when they got dis-add, when they feel they are gunna get pressured and bombed, just being vocal in general with a pocket and knowing how to try and slow down a push when they are trying to stay alive, its hard when they dont talk and just straight commit to everything when no one else is counting and you get constantly slammed with the other team with uber advantage.
