I'm 16 years old currently (will be 17 in 2 months and 17 days from this post) and I want new hardware. Unfortunately due to the current and estimate world state at the moment (fucking terrible), my motivation for job hunting has already sunk. I'd rather stick with shit hardware than suffer at retail, despite wanting better hardware. Help pls?

i don't know if it's allowed to work with your age in your region but there are many ways to work even currently (through your computer)
at first you have to think what fields do you feel the best, think if it's possible currently (this outbreak cuts a lot of opportunities for a job and a lot of my friends lost their jobs, sadly) and then just go for it

personally i always wanted to do stuff related with computers/servers, so after realizing it i basically spent my whole life on looking how things work and how to get into doing something with it

if you really want to dig in, try writing a plan first - it will always give you some insight in where are you now and where can you be in the future + what can you achieve, also by doing it (as long as you are making this plan with realistic expectations) you can expect from yourself when can you achieve certain stuff

i got my first computer when i was 8 and my dad told me that if i ever wanted to get another one in the future, i'll have to remember that i'm gonna get it by using my own money as he's not going to sponsor it
take it as a lesson - it's possible that nobody will help you in that desire, so basically you can do something with it or just be stuck with your current shit
i took it very seriously and not only in a matter of getting a new computer, but in terms of just getting better life in general, in most fields of life

eventually my dad was right - i got a new GaMiNg LaPtOp after getting a large grant for getting a high place in some national technical competition which allowed me to get some computer (at this moment i didn't have one at all because in the first one graphics were burned and this computer was performance peak was playing quake live with 60 fps on 1280x1024) but this laptop honestly dissappointed me in terms of what performance could i get, so after 3 years i got a completely new pc with strong perhiperals because i cared about by dad's words about this shit so hard so i just wanted to be have that feeling that i can be proud of myself, because i achieved it (i mean i didn't get the best graphics available obviously, because what's the point of getting stuff i'll never use in 100%?)

i also know someone who wanted to get his new pc so hard and eventually he got it (but i don't remember the ways of getting money and it was definitely before covid stage), he's not much older than you and i'm talking about stan
i think you will understand how desperated he was when you actually see his computer:

i'm gonna add that there was a case where his cpu cooler ripped of from his pc in the middle of a scrim and you can't imagine how funny it was XD
with dad's thought in my head i was really proud of him and eventually i even assembled his pc so he wouldn't break anything

you should ask yourself if you really need that new pc - if you don't feel that you can try just getting hard in your target as much as russian gamers play ammomod on MGE, it's likely that you don't need that new pc

you may get it as some coach talk, please don't - it's just me and realistic point of view on things based on my personal experience
