I had been thinking for a while about how one of the biggest wastes from the competitive mode introduction was all the voice lines recorded for it, alot of them references to 6s and i generally enjoyed them a lot, I was wondering what exactly triggers those voice lines, as in, if you host a custom server with an mvm map youll hear all the mvm voice lines but if you use mp_tournament 1 you dont hear the comp mode ones? I am just interested in how they can be accessed / triggered within custom competitive servers, thankyou.

Check out scripts/game_sounds_vo.txt[/url] in tf2_misc_dir.vpk and search for Announcer or Comp, there should be loads of references to the audio files (additionally tf_sound_vo_english_dir.vpk and then sound/vo/compmode to listen to the actual .mp3 files).

Thing is that even with the sound files there, the server needs to trigger them for various events, if those triggers don't happen there's no sounds being played.
