TF2 crashes when using bot overhaul mod, any fix?

Hello everyone, I apologize for the oddly specific topic, but I've been having this strange issue with tf2 that I've never had before. The situation is that I have this mod called "bot overhaul" that basically does exactly what the name suggests: overhauls the bots in the game. The mod comes with an optional shortcut that automatically runs TF2 in offline mode (this can also be done by putting "-insecure" in the launch options), and the mod only works in this mode. Anyways, whenever I load into a map, no matter what map it is, one of two things happens: either the game crashes to desktop after around 5 seconds of being in the match, or I am able to play in the match for about a minute or two before the game crashes. The game will not do this if I launch the game in normal online mode, but like I said, the mod doesn't work when launched in online mode. However, the game WILL work completely fine if I create a server, however the game will immediately crash if I try adding bots to said server, regardless of the map the server is on. I have already tried verifying integrity of game files and clearing download cache, but neither did anything. I have also tried playing tf2 with no custom huds however this also made no difference. I have no other mods installed, and the only workshop content I have downloaded are just user made maps, so i'm not to sure if it's workshop content that's doing it. Lastly, I've obviously already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod, but the problem still persists, and its a damn shame because the very small tidbits of gameplay I've managed to squeeze out before crashing were actually pretty fun and the mod does a good job of making the bots far better. I understand that this is an oddly specific post to make, especially considering that I haven't found any other people aside from myself and one other person bring up this specific issue (except for custom animations, which I don't use), but im hoping that I'll be able to get some help on here.
