my sister lives in santa barbara and knew people who were shot by this guy, and knew a few people who died second-hand. pretty terrifying to think that had she been in the wrong place that day she (as a blonde haired blue eyed girl) could have very easily been in his line of fire. elliot was definitely a headcase, but places like bodybuilding forum enabled his behavior and made it so much worse.

just in case you didn't know, this guy snapped, went on a killing spree, and killed himself in the end. no shit he was messed up. between Asperger's, schizophrenia and not having anyone he felt he could open up with, the dude made a call for help with some weird ass blog posts. quelle surprise.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Isla_Vista_killings

Referring to an incident that occurred on July 20, 2013, Rodger wrote that "he tried to shove girls at a party over a ten-foot ledge after being mocked but failed", and instead other boys pushed him over it. He said that he "felt a snap in [his] ankle, followed by a stinging pain" and "tried to get away from there as fast as [he] could". Realizing that he left his sunglasses at the party, Rodger returned to retrieve them but the "same people he had tangled with before began mocking him and calling him names, then dragged him into the driveway to beat him up". One of Rodger's neighbors said that "he saw Rodger come home, crying" and said that Rodger claimed that he was going to kill the men involved, and "kill myself".

cringe

EDIT:

I'm 22 years old and I'm still a virgin. I've never even kissed a girl. I've been through college for two and a half years, more than that actually, and I'm still a virgin. It has been very torturous. College is the time when everyone experiences those things such as sex and fun and pleasure. Within those years, I've had to rot in loneliness. It's not fair. You girls have never been attracted to me. I don't know why you girls aren't attracted to me, but I will punish you all for it. It's an injustice, a crime, because... I don't know what you don't see in me. I'm the perfect guy and yet you throw yourselves at these obnoxious men instead of me, the supreme gentleman.

lmao

if only he wasn't such a beta and got some strange every once in a while, he would've realized females aren't worth killing people over. kid was so rich and spoiled he could've just bought some high class escorts.

Elliot should have just started selling weed, knowing it's a college town there will be a couple of thots that will give it up for a gram.

It's too easy and safe to dismiss all people who's views are extreme as "obviously trolls", and way too common. The truth is, while few are psychotic enough to murder, views like Eliot's are not unique.

I remember this guy. He could've been more successful if he had trained like Anders Breivik did but instead he just thought "Lol I have gun and it'll be like GTA LOL" WRONG! Elliot Rodger is the perfect example of a spree killing that goes horribly wrong when you fail to plan or prepare properly. Conversely, the Columbine Kids, the old golden boys, were a tremendous success aside from their propane bombs which were duds and would have propelled them to the highest or at least top 5 highscore.

But what really bites me is that everybody gets a stick up their ass about guns or mahogany, or whatever retarded crap and don't focus on the REAL motivations for these killings which is bullying, social isolation, and sub-standard upbringings. We can observe that the majority of spree killers are highly narcissistic, a factor that is exacerbated from living in a single mother household. Furthermore, they all point to societal ills that nobody ever is willing to genuinely address or reflect on. For example, Eric and Dylan came from a genuinely shitty school with an actual bullying epidemic. They also had poor home-lives and were socially isolated from their peers due to these factors feeding into and self-perpetuating themselves. Anders Breivik was completely right, and his manifesto is very spooky to read when you realize his predictions mostly came true. Elliot Rodger had a bad upbringing because he was raised by a single mother who just hopped from rich man to rich man, providing him with a flawed conception of what desirable masculinity is, and caused him to focus on wealth and status while leaving other properties to languish and become atrophied (actual social skills, being a good person, having genuine emotions, humility).

If anything we ought to ask ourselves how we as a society have fucked up for being able to facilitate such individuals coming to the conclusion that they ought to commit acts of violence to settle their scores with society rather than acting in a positive and beneficial manner. Rather than blaming them entirely. For they are in part, products of their environments just inasmuch as we are. I see lives that could have gone right if they were not poisoned and damned to a mediocre existence in the first place. And much like Cain, rebelling against The Infinite, circumstance itself, they do something absolutely reprehensible as their act of vengeance to prove that they had something in them.

That's what I always think about when I see these events. A human mind is a terrible thing to waste.
