problems with hitsound in dx8?

I put mat_dxlevel 80 in my config and now my hitsound bugs out. It will sometimes work and other times it will sound broken up and buggy and it only happens in dx8. Is there any way I can fix this other than switching off dx8?

Make sure ur hitsound is in ur hud's sound folder

it's the default hitsound and it fucks up even with the default hud

You should never use dx80, use 81 and see if it still happens.

Do you have multicore optimizations enabled? What hardware are you running? What's your average performance?
