I can't seem to watch my friends at all, constant buffering and loading. Seems like if you don't have a really good connection you can't do shit. I'm running 60 meg and people still can't seem to watch mine, even when I have it down to low settings.

i have a feeling they're going to make it so you cant stream non-steam games so this doesnt happen, but naturally that would just be putting a bandaid on the problem

community bans suckkkkkkkk :(

also banning non steam games would be a stupid move overall

they could just whitelist exes or something, but getting things like WoW and LoL on their streaming service, even if just to a small degree would be a huge help legitimizing the service

If you ban other games, you're just furthering the divide of people who use steam, and people who don't, conversely being open allows them to reach out to people who don't use steam as a storefront or game library, and try to convert them

wont change anything. they need to make misconduct punishment so heavy people won't dare do it on their mains, while also not disallowing it for alts with no games.

DougA con I found is that you can't set custom bitrates. My internet is kinda bad (2mbps of upload), so I can stream single player games at 2000 bitrate, but if I play multiplayer games I get pings at 300~600 ms. When I stream with OBS, I set my bitrate to 1500, which looks really better than 1000 and my ping stays at 30~50. With Steam, I can only set 1000 (which is ugly) or 2000 (which my internet can't handle). I hope they improve it in the future.

Added 1500 kbps encoding bitrate
Fixed typo in settings for encoding bitrate 3000 kbps
Fixed effective minimum encoding bitrate to be 750 kbps
